Exams, essays, worksheets... like growing piles of washing up, you know that at some point they've just got to be done! Hopefully you should find your course slightly more enjoyable (and more rewarding) than tackling last night's greasy dishes. However, I'm here to ease any work-related stress and difficulties arising during your studies.

Alistair Haggerty

Hi! I'm Alistair, the Access Rep for this year. I'm basically here to encourage people from all walks of life to apply to Merton. Academically, Merton is the highest achieving college. In order to maintain this level we need to ensure that all people with the potential to be here feel that they can apply. We organise school visits and tours, give advice to teachers and pupils and are just about to launch the Ambassador Scheme. This involves current Mertonians visiting target schools in their home areas and giving information and advice to students. If anyone would like to be involved in this scheme or would like to share any bright ideas then please look out for the dates of Access meetings in the JCR emails.

Hi, I'm Josh, your Affiliated Organisations rep for this year. My job is mainly to work with the JCR President to link Merton with our Student Union. I am here to represent your views so feel free to e-mail me about with any opinions you have on the agenda for the meetings that I'll be emailing to all JCR members in advance of each meeting. We always welcome a third vote, so if you are interested in OUSU it would be great for you to come along!
